Scratch Build Case Club - Page 63

Made some slight progress on my desk build tonight. I got all the cable and tubing passthough holes drilled out and cut out the piece for the top. Next step is to cut the hole in the center for the window. I've been helping a friend clean out his warehouse and found a nice sheet of glass that will work nicely for the window. It is a little wide and has to be cut down, the the glass shop around the corner said they could cut it for $10

You shouldn't need shiny new computer parts. If that's what this community requires, I know there are other communities out that recognize a case mod or scratch build for what it is, rather than what it houses... I'd say go for it!

Hey guys,

I've been lurking around this thread for a week or so and I just started a build log for my scratch built case.

There's some really nice work in here.

guys , i need some suggestions !!!! , im going insaine , my OCD wont let me sleep !!!!

the top of my case need some sort of vent pattern or something ... but i still cant find a "style" that could fit the build (cant show the case yet , it could go into "production" soon wink.gif ) ,

The style ... very simple , like Case Lab / LittleDevil / Lian-Li ... just a rectangular box that enclose electronic components lol , but i want to make this simple things that always thought of fixing in this niche market , excess of space that makes lots of wasted space . making the case excessively large lol . and other stuff i have in mind devilsmiley.gif

still .. here it is , the problem i have right now ... see ? it looks way too cliche / out of place with the "clean" style / not original

if someone could post some suggestions , ill try to make them in SW and see how they are look and post the end result smile.gif

here is a template , in case someone wants to help out with some suggestions :

Could someone point me in the direction of where to buy those square tubes that you can just slot together? I'm not entirely sure what they're called but I know I've seen them used for Spotswood's mining cases. I just can't seem to find a place that sells that local. headscratch.gif

Maybe go for something similar, but with much larger hex cutouts?

Try googling "T-Slot Extrusion" There are tons of places that sell it online. I think it would be a little more difficult to find a local shop that sells it though

I would go with the lines, but go horizontal from the vertical one you're showing. I would also stagger the lines similar to what murderbox does.
