i7 3770k, Sabertooth Z77, DDR3 1866 MHZ

I started this build a couple nights ago, and while reading through forums and literature I noticed I may have a conflict with my setup.
  • i7 3770k
  • Sabertooth Z77
  • 16GB DDR3 1866 MHZ (CMZ16GX3M2A1866C10R)

I read that this memory will not be recognized by the MOBO. If so, can I manually change that in the BIOS to makes these 3 run together without an issues, or has this been resolved with BIOS updates over time? I haven't built a PC in nearly 12 years and a lot has changed since then, So basically I am taking my time and being thorough so that I have a great rig for CAD and gaming.

Thanks for any help thumb.gif

I can't imagine why it wouldn't be recognized. Just set the memory profile to XMP in the BIOS and you should be set. If for some reason that didn't work, you can just set the timings manually. Worst case you might need to run it at DDR3-1600, but even that is unlikely.

Kind of what I was thinking, good. Thanks for the reply.

Everything is running smooth.... thumb.gif Guess I was just nervous since it had been so long since building one.
