Hi can anyone help me pls....

I've overclocked my cpu to 2.9 Ghz but I want to go further...

What I need to know is what temperatures should I be wary of? Or what temps is ok or too high for my cpu?

My cpu is currently at 42degrees according speedfan...(I got this reading after playing most wanted).

I really do want to go over 3Ghz but I'm afraid to blow my cpu ... Pls help!!!!!

Try to keep your CPU tempuratures under 55C during full load to avoid straining the CPU. You really dont have a great setup for overclocking that much so dont push it too hard.

You have a weak power supply, poor cooling and iffy RAM and I dont know what model of motherboard you have.

Just be careful

Yes it should help, also make sure you have a decent CPU cooler if you're going to overclock, the stock cooler just wont cut it

If you want to safely overclock further you should probably consider a new power supply at the least. Your temps look ok so you should be able to go higher but a crappy PSU can easily be the cause of your downfall. If you don't have much money you should look into an FSP 400w. Good stable power for a low price. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104953

Enermax is known to be one of the top brands and this one came in at a nice price.

It would be best if you didn't use that fan. Cracking open PSU's is extremely dangerous and it's really cheap to just go out and buy a case fan. Sorry my life is worth more then a $4 fan

thanks It would have been cool though!!!

I like tinkering... and I've already taken out the fan... it seems in good working condition(tested with a battery).
