I know some people hate on Tom's Hardware, but their monthly "Best Graphics Card for the price" is fairly good.

the 7870 is the best card in your price range you can normally get them for $200-$220. they overclock well and they are pretty good for power consumption.

For $200, I'd recommend going with an HD 7850 2GB. It's a powerful, cool-running card that has low power consumption. It's within your budget and probably the best option out there for you now.

And it is a beast to overclock, in some cases matching the 7950

somethign around 200, so 660ti or 7950. not recommending 7870 because of known issues.

PNY GTX 660 Ti is $220 after MIR at Frys, best deal around. http://www.frys.com/product/7265393
OR if you just want to upgrade really cheap, PM me and I'll sell you my GTX 275 SC, which I upgraded to from a 8800GT and it was a huge upgrade. It will still play any game at your resolution, you'd just have to turn down settings in newer ones.
