H100i temps?

Thread Starter
I was wondering if I'm doing this right. I am running amd fx 8350, asus crosshair formula z, 16 gb Samsung ram 1866 9 9 9 24, gtx 670 x3, corsair ax 1050 watt. I overclocked my processor to 4.7 ghz and on prime 95 my CPU socket gets around 55-60 while my CPU gets around 47-50. My voltage is at 1.475.

Your temps for that voltage seem pretty normal or better than many even. The CPU will start to throttle in the low to mid 60s C on the core. If that is your prime 95 temps though you will definitely be fine without any throttling,

Throttling? Sorry new to over clocking.

Throttling means that your CPU slowed itself down to prevent overheating.

I think you should just stay where you are. Your temperatures are getting a little hot for comfort during full loads.

You could try, but I would run OCCT to make sure you do not start getting errors would be a clue you've gone too far.

whats the thermal compound situation? did you clean off the compound on ur cpu before installing the h100i? did you use the stock compound on the h100i? maybe try new compound with a thin even coat? my h100i keeps my 8150 at 15 lowest idle to 33 max full load.

Yeah I used article silver 5. Should I reapply with a new one because I'm running four sp120 fans on my h100i. Shouldn't it be lower? I don't really know how to properly apply thermal paste.

Is your 8150 at 4.7GHz and 1.475v?
