A non ti 560 would play about like a 6870 that I had and it would play on ultra at 1080 with frame rates dipping a huge amount on the bigger maps but would play just fine on high. Instead of a 560 you would be better off saving for something like a 7870 which performs better with DX 11.

I would create a listing of your computers details so people can accurately help you.
The gpu you need will vary quite a bit if you running a 1600x900 monitor versus a 1920x1200 versus a 2560x1600 one.

As far as gpu's go, if you can swing it I would get something from the latest generation of cards. And if you upgrade infrequently, get the best one you can afford.

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/sparkle_geforce_gtx_650_ti_dragon_review,14.html
Notice that the gtx 560ti running a 1920x1200 monitor can only make 28 fps, so a gtx560 would produce less. This of course is with the eye candy maxed out.

If you state your budget tons of people will make recommendations and spend all night backing them up. biggrin.gif

I have ran BF3 I had it on all medium 1600x1200 res and I was getting I wanna say around a 40-60 fps I wasn't running fraps or anything to get an accurate number but that's what it felt like I will get a real fps count a write back.
render.drawfps 1 in the console will tell you your FPS

I'd download and run fraps and also hit up nvidia's website. They might have an article on which elements in BF3's graphics settings are the most demanding. Typically it is easy to ramp up model detail and AF, but AA tasks the gpu's harder.

Guru3d always uses a certain segment of the BF3 campaign to test since you can count on the same intensity - I'd suggest doing that to best gage the impact of changes to settings.
