I tried like you indicated in the second one, but I still can't get the pins out of the ATX connector. I'm trying with a spare power supply (PC Power and Cooling Silencer 610). Maybe it'll be easier with a different one. I'm not ready to give up yet!

Sometimes it helps if you "tip" the wire the pin is connected to as you push the pin in, and do each pin one side at a time. Get the first pin compressed, and "tip" the wire a bit so one pin is pushed through the connector, then move onto the other side. You'll get it eventually, and once you do, it gets much easier from then on out. Just be careful not to break your tool, it shouldn't take much force. Pretty much push the tool in, then "tip" the wire, and that should release each side of the pin. Good luck, I'm sure that made zero sense in writing lol

Yes, this is still the plan. I am still getting the parts though as budget allows me too. I can't everything at once frown.gif

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try it like you described. No idea why I can't make it work. Every other wire connector is easy for me.

It does take a little violence for me when I am pulling out my wires. I have an AX850, but I am sure that it is the same for all PSUs'. I worked on removing one pin for 25mins last night..

Maybe you should get a pin crimping tool and some extra pins for piece of mind... If you destroy the connector, you could always then replace it smile.gif

You must to do a guide about 24pin atx. I didnt and I´m waiting for a new cable from corsair

I might do that mate. What did you do wrong?

I am also fixing the "double wire" issue where I am cutting the wire and re-crimping the pins. I hope it turns out nice smile.gif

There are many people who have the cables, but then buy the corsair single braided cables. They would then have the stock cables left over. I bought cables from someone here I. Sweden for equivalent of $10USD, so If I messed up, it wouldn't be a problem.

My wife is happy as long as I don't burn down our home, and that I do it while we are In the same room biggrin.gif

Just wait until I pull out the dremel!
