How different direction? It's supposed to spin the way the blades are.

How are you connecting it?

How do you know that the fan is rotating the wrong way?

Turning the wrong way? How so?

EDIT: I think that's how it's supposed to turn.

I'm not sure. Case fans don't turn like that do they. They turn with the "pointed"/"acute" part of the blade leading, dont they?

Yup, that's how it's supposed to turn. It pushes the air thru the HS and out the back of the case.

No problem. Its always good to have a problem to think about and come to an agreement in the end!

Yes, that is the correct rotation shown in the photo, because it is a centrifugal fan. This type of fan uses centrifugal force to move the air off the blade "paddles" in a slinging manner. Do not confuse this type of fan with a blower fan (some call it a "squirrel cage"), which "grabs" air on the blade edges and forces it away in a channeled manner. A centrifugal fan does not blow as well against a resistance as a blower fan will, due to this design difference.
