[GH] AC Assault Horizon PC released - Page 2

After playing since AIR COMBAT (the original PSX game...) I can say that the series was absolutely the best in terms of story, cinematics (especially in AC4). Once they moved to X360 only, I knew something was up. I played it at a friends place (since I don't own a M$ give me money machine), and I loathed it. What happened Namco!

Great, its on PC now, but I have no reason at all to care. I just hope that they go back to the old ways of the series, because I would seriously consider buying an Old PS2 to enjoy the classics again if Namco never revives this series.

I remember that game. I remember I kept dying on the canyon level because I kept using the more stable aircraft which had minimal maneuverability xD and that I was using novice controls, not advanced/normal.

Ace Combat: Zero is my favorite, personally. I only own AC:5 and AC:Zero, but I've thought about picking up AC:6 or this one, until I come online and read how it's not the same (and overall bad).

The same thing happened with the Tom Clancy's HAWX games. I liked the first one, and then installed the second one and it's garbage (Bought both for like $12 during the Holiday sale in 2011).

OMG how?

lol, seriously. I've tried PCSX2. I continously get random moments of "slow motion" sound and video.

Reinstall it, save your PS2 BIOS, and just auto-configure it. I run it in fullscreen at 1080p with anti aliasing and I can hit 30/60/120fps no problem in most scenes

I remember playing Ace Combat Shattered skies back in the day. That game was a lot of fun.

I too was very excited when I heard "Ace Combat" and "PC" in one sentence. But that excitement quickly faded away after 10 minutes of gameplay.

It's another "Press X to win" game. Sad what the industry has become.

The multiplayer portion of the game features support through Games for Windows Live from Microsoft.
How do those 2 things exist in the same sentence without a lolcat pic on the receiving end o.O
OT: haven't touched ace combat since the ps2 days, the gane to me just got easier as the years went on, ah well, at least there is a multitude of alternatives out there.

Love the series. This last game, wasn't that special.

Yeah, PSX2 is quite easy to run...if you can manage to PC game, then you should be able to figure out how to run PSX2. It can be a beast to run, though my I7-860 at 3.6GHz and 5850 have handled every game I have at 1080p with the 2xAA hardware hack...which is about 20 games or so. You can't expect to be playing at the max available settings. Like I see people trying to run it at 4x Native resolution which is more than 1080p...just leave it at 2x with more AA added or 3x with 2xAA if you are going to be looking at it in 1080p.

I missed out on so many good games by not playing a console for so many years and now I find myself digging through bins of PS2 games quite often hoping to find a gem. Funny how I do not feel I am missing anything by not owning a 360 or PS3 right now.
