Case "stand"?

Thread Starter
Looking to get my case off my carpet, but not onto my desk. Anyone have a great stand solution that you use?

There is a side table LACK from IKEA on wheels that is interesting, would prove to do be good at storing things too!

Any ideas/recommendations?

Set your PC case on top of an empty case. x3 I set my regular PC on top of my server for months (the server has air filters so it was easier to get the dust out of).

Also, at one point my desk was taken up by dual 17" CRT monitors, my computer was on a small table, and my keyboard and mouse were on a folding TV-tray looking table. It was all good until one of the plastic feet broke on my HAF 932 and my computer landed on the floor.

I personally use a slab of granite ( was leftover from an old job ) that fits my cases dimensions just about perfectly. Keeps it off the carpet and the granite actually stays really cool as well.

Oh that's slick, granite. That sounds like a great idea.

Got a photo of your setup Shrak?

Personally, I like the "bakers carts" you can get from various stores. They allow for lots of air flow. You can get them with or without wheels. I think they look nice. And if you need a flat surface, you can always get a finished or unfinished board and set on the shelf.

You can get them just about anywhere and they are pretty inexpensive, like $40 at Home Depot.

An interesting idea, but I am looking for something really discrete and simple, Has to look good with my Fractal R4! biggrin.gif

These shelves are AWESOME. I've been trying to find a cheap, good sized one for a while. Just be aware that they do rust if they are not cared for, and once they do rust, they are a pain to restore because of how the bars are shaped/welded. They also tear up cheap foodservice rags when you sanitize them and get full of little strings. x3

Currently no computer on it as it's being worked on but some quick snaps of the slab, roughly 1 1/4" thick, 25" long and 14 1/2" wide.

Although if you wanted something cheaper, you could easily get a Pine board and have it cut to size

How much did the custom slab cost you?
It was leftover from an old job so I got it for free tongue.gif

But if you have a local stone / counter / flooring place nearby, you can always ask to browse their scraps and you can usually get them pretty cheap, something around that size would only be like $30-40, or less if the guys are nice.
