Thinking about upgrading...

I want to upgrade but not sure if it's worth it. I have a EVGA GTX 570 2560mb variant. I was thinking about getting another for SLI but I they don't seem to be available anymore on newegg. I've also had trouble in the past with having two cards, but it was with crossfire on my 5770s, Is sli better? I had a weird stuttering on my old cards...If I go the single card route, what card should I get that's maybe 30%+ faster than my card?

Here's the newegg link to what I currently have:

SLI works well on my rig with 2 570s, but it may be worth waiting to see what happens with the 7xx series as they're rumoured around March iirc before you decide to drop cash on a new card.

If you really have an upgrade itch, see if you can get a cheap second 570 from eBay or somewhere to tide you over smile.gif

Problem is I'm having trouble finding the 2560mb version, I could always just get the 1280mb variant, but then my card would be limited. redface.gif

I'd get a second 570 and run SLI thumb.gif
I'm still very happy with my two GTX480s, and I run three screens smile.gif

Just had a look on eBay and they asking >£300 which is ridiculous.

If I were you, I would maybe try to stretch it out until 7xx series cards, the 6xx aren't going to give you the solid 30% improvement you mentioned earlier unless you go 690.

Your other option is a 7970/7950 and clock the hell out of it, apparently the new drivers are pretty hot.

Personally I'm waiting for the 7xx series or the Nvidia Titan GK110 but then I'm already SLI'ing 570s

Hmm interesting, I always thought the 600 series were more powerful the only bad things I heard about were the memory bandwidth on some mid range cards.
They are more powerful, you just won't get a 30% jump in performance
