Hey guys, im ordering a 2500k and 2600k for OCing, what are your suggestions do these clock better than the ivy bridge?

PS a good motherboard combo for these chips $150-250 range (Gigabyte preferably)

They do generally overclock higher and cooler than IB, but IB is about 10% or more ahead in performance clock for clock. MSI Mpower Z77 is my suggestion for a motherboard. They are all hand tested at very high clocks before being sent out. The chance of a bad board is less than minute.

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H. Why are you getting a Sandy chip instead of an Ivy - the overclock difference is balanced by the higher IPC of Ivy, and you get PCIE 3.0 and the improved IMC with Ivy.

Ivy Bridge it is! uses less power than the sandy bridges, as for board wouldnt the UD5H be a better choice? heard the vrms are stronger

It does, but it doesn't really make any practical difference. Your overclocking is going to be cooling/chip limited on air/AIO water, not motherboard limited.

im jumping on water cooling soon, have been waiting for cm eisberg to be released. so that shouldnt be a prob either, plus the deliding it most likely since temps drop upto 10-20c
