Asrock FM2A85X-ITX - the ultimate FM2 ITX mobo to lust for? - Page 2

Well this looks quite promising. What kind of power supply are you testing with? is it a picupsu by chance? and are you able to test power draw from the wall? im wondering how efficient this one is.

btw, i dont mean to be a complete novice at this, but when it says memory supported ddr3 2400+(OC), im assuming the OC is overclock? if i buy ram thats rated at this, are there any settings i'd have to be messing with in the bio's to get the full speed of it?

OT: CM 212+.... I have a sheet of thermal gap filler I can use.

Going to keep an eye on this one and hope for no problems like they did on their FM2A75M-ITX and if all good pick 1 up.
I do have a FM2A75M-ITX but not sure if i want to use it with all the fire problems.
I picked up a Danger Den DD-M6 Nickel AMD CPU water block because it uses no back plate and should have no problem with all the small chips on the back side of the board that and I will be using custom water.

Open air test rig Corsair AX760i

Haven't gotten around to doing the power usage checks for this test rig but from previous testing, FM2 rigs can be made to run cool and efficient indeed esp. if undervolted. Here's a slightly older post on my kid's A8-5600K rig

For both the Asrock ITX FM2 mobos, I was able to use the bundled "backplate" of the Corsair H55 (Asetek) CLC. Here's an older photo I took with the A75 mobo taken from this post

Ran mine at 4.2GHz for half a day back when I was trying it out and it still lived to tell but presently it's living in a box while waiting for a spare processor, too many mobos too few chips... oh well.

Akiba FTW!
Looks like it is already listed over in Japan

Can anyone with the MSI FM2-A75IA-E53 verify if these points still hold true and can it be undervolted/underclocked?

AMD Trinity A10 Revisited (Part 1/2) - Going ITX with MSI's FM2-A75IA-E53 by VR-Zone.com
Quote:
This is the part that will disappoint the enthusiast readers - although there are base clock frequency and multiplier adjustments for the CPU and GPU, the FM2-A75IA-E53 lacks adjustable core voltage controls (verified with MSI). This puts an end to any meaningful overclocking, which is pretty ironic/misleading given its emphasis on the product's marketing literature and box design. We will check with MSI again if they have plans to restore this in a future BIOS update since the PWM controller apparently has support for it.

Update 12/11 - Apparently it is possible to adjust the CPU/NB voltage with tools like AMD Overdrive and macci's TCI K2 utility. However any attempt to overvolt the CPU above its default VID will immediately cause the multipliers and base clock to be locked at their stock values, even with throttling mechanisms like CPB/APM switched off.
