Dead mobo?

Thread Starter
I need some help peeps. I'm on the verge of selling all of my 3930k stuff. My mobo LED lights up but does not post. I've tried every possible way
from reseating CPU, RAM, swapped PSU's. Thanks in advance.

Edit: My mobo is a Asus Rampage IV Gene X79 mATX.

I tried everything D:, the only thing I can think of is RMA but I didn't buy any warranty on it @__@

You don't need to buy a warranty. Your board comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty. Call Asus

take your cpu and ram out, look at the pins where the CPU sits, make sure the pins arent bent or nothing is in there do the same with the ram slots, i had some thermal paste dried up left in my cpu pin, wouldnt post was also some inthe ram slots, cleaned it up and got it working again. BE VERY CAREFUL when messing with the cpu pin section.

Checked the CPU socket also no bent pins or burnt marks

Any hard drives plugged in? Those can prevent the system from POSTing.

Anything shorting? Are you running it on top of an antistatic bag? That will cause it to short.

Take out the expansion cards as well; they can mess things up.

Check if there is anything lodged inside any PCIe sockets or anything like that.

Any lights on the diagnostic LED?

Did you forget to plug in the 8 pin. (I did that once lol)

You put it on a cardboard box to test, right? It's not sitting on an antistatic bag or anything?

You can RMA it with Asus, if it is not over 3 years old and you might also need the original receipt.
