upgrading computer need opinons

Thread Starter
im upgrading my motherboard, video card, and my hard drive. http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=482

that is my current motherboard

the one im looking at getting is

http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=560

and im switching from ati cards to nvidia cards

i want to have an sli setup but im starting with just one card for now

im new to nvidia but im thinking of starting with this card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121660

now what i want to know is how that motherboard and card work are they good bad or what, i already know everything else ( ram cpu psu) is all able to be used with the new board.

and the other question is can i use that card with the current board i have. i would like to buy the card first and board 2nd (when i get my taxes lol)

im trying to play games such as WoW, D3, GW2, BF3 all on max settings and get my computer to run a bit smoother as well.

First of all, Welcome to overclock.net!

I'm sorry that your post sat here for 6 days without any responses. OCN is typically better about responding, but your post is a bit confusing.

1.) First of all, let me know your budget for these upgrades. I would do a better job recommending parts, if i knew the current hardware of your PC and your budget for the upgrades.

If you list your budget and your current hardware you typically get better/more responses on overclock.net

2.) Why upgrade your motherboard? If you want a dual video card setup, and your motherboard supports crossfire....just go with a AMD card. The 7870 is just as good as the GTX 660 2GB.

It doesn't make sense to switch motherboard just because you want SLi. It is a fact that switching your motherboard will not give you more bang-for-your buck than just sticking with a crossfire setup. (Unless your upgrading your processor as well.) Your just wasting your money. If you don't believe me I'll have to start breaking out some hard numbers and doing some math.

Just go with this video card instead --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121649

(Now, if you wanted to go with a Intel I5 setup, I could justify upgrading your motherboard.)

3.) Your AM3 cpu and memory will work in that motherboard. The GTX 660 2GB will work in your current motherboard.

The video card you picked out is excellent. The motherboard you picked out wouldn't be my first choice, but definitely seems like a good solid motherboard.

4.) What are you upgrading your hard drive too?

5.) What is all the hardware you have in this PC? What is your current video card? Are you upgrading your power supply as well? I am curious if your current CPU is enough to run these games? ect.
