AMD 5800K + HD6670 DDR3 vs GDDR5?

Is GDDR5 useless on a 5800K dual graphics setup. I heard it runs slower because the 7660D uses the systems RAM which is DDR3.

It won't run slower, but it will just be a waste of money that's all. How crossfire works is one gpu process one frame, and another gpu process the next. You are only almost twice as fast as you slowest card, which is your iGPU in this case.

What I meant by slower is that If I had a GDDR5 HD6670, would that down scale to DDR3?
No. What happens is that both use GDDR5 memory. System memory isnt used once u crossfire 6670.

That's what I figured. So if that's true then I should benefit from using GDDR5. Right?

Yes. Have a look at this thread http://www.overclock.net/t/1274862/amd-a8-3870k-apu-benchmarked-with-and-without-6670-dual-graphics/80 starts at page 9 i think but its bit long goes to 25 or so pages. U will see other ppl confirm this.
Also this thread

I guess u will find more if u look here on OCN.

Good luck.
