Not enough physical memory available to power on this virtual machine with its configured settings.

Thread Starter
HI,

I just installed VM 7 on my Windows 8 OS and I'm trying to create a virtual machine for Windows Server 2008 R2. But when I do it I get error

"Not enough physical memory available to power on this virtual machine with its configured settings.
To fix this problem, increase the amount of physical memory for all virtual machines to 1024MB or adjust the additional memory settings to allow more memory to be swapped.

Here are my HOST machine environment:

OS: Windows 8 Pro X64
RAM: 1.87 Usable (2GB)
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.21GHz
Free HDD space on OS Drive: 66GB
Free HDD Space on Drive where I'm trying to create Virtual Image: 292GB

Even if I increase/decrease the memory settings if doesn't make any difference.. Your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks

There's no way you have enough RAM (physical) to run a VM. You can swap memory to disk in the VMware settings, but this will severely degrade performance. Unfortunately, you need to upgrade your hardware redface.gif

Nevermind, I found a way to fix it. I ran VMware in administrator and when I powered on the virtual machine no errors popped up.

Tenía el mismo problema y se solucionó sólo con ejecutar VMware como administrador. Al igual que Skitsofrantik. smile.gif: General:
