Bad chip, below average chip , or am I doing something wrong - Page 11

Dang..thats nice. I need at least 1.35v to go to 4.4 on my PC. Anything lower and I bluescreen. BTW VonDutch, your formula for finding the proper offset worked like a charm. Thank you, Sir.

you try getting to 4.5 yet?

You guys think i should lay off 4.5ghz @ 1.38v due to the high Voltage?

I managed to get it stable at 4.4ghz with 1.344v however it idles around 1.14-1.24v, is this okay? Max temp in prime95 were 73c

I'm gonna stick to 4.3 till vondutch lets me know if the above voltage at idle is okay for 4.4ghz

its ok, your idle voltage seems a bit high, but that can have several reasons, but no worries,
idle vcore is nothing that can hurt your chip.. smile.gif
i dont really care what happens when my chip is idle, i never look at it really,
for me its about what it does at load ..lol

in the ideal world it should look like this i think, heres mine i took this morning,

my offset is 0.055V atm, set in bios, so the VID 1.0057 + 0.055 =1.0607 which is very close to the 1.056V vcore cpu-z shows,

but it jumps around a bit all the time, like i said, idle isnt really that important for me,
except if i would use a negative offset, because then my idle would be lower also,
to low idle vcore could cause instability also, when negative offset gets to high..

Alrighty, so I shouldn't worry about idle since it won't effect degrading and since my temps are all under 60c during gaming and under 83c during IBT I should be fine for a long time without worrying about degration?
