Bad chip, below average chip , or am I doing something wrong - Page 12

alright bit wierd, I can pass IBT on high and standard with 20 runs, however on very high a get a framework pop up with an X and the freeze test flam turns into an X, the test proceeds, and everything goes fine, IBT says my system is stable. Adding another 0.005v fixes this. Should I stay at 1.336v or go to 1.34?

There is obviously some sort of instability, even if IBT isn't detecting/reporting it, and if bumping the voltage slightly reliably fixes it, you should bump the voltage.

Weird, all my games except csgo work fine, csgo crashes alot, stock clocks work fine, however I thin kits a gpu issue, my temps get high when i leave fan at regular speed, made a fan profile, seems like it runs fine now.

is there anything to worry about using LLC on extreme vs turbo? I can get 1.344v using offsets stable on LLC EXTREME*(1.344v reported by CPU-Z/HWinfo) whereas i need 1.354 to get it stable on other LLC levels. It shouldn't effect heat/degration since the voltage is the same correct?

Try upgrading mb?

NVm the reason why it worked on Extreme was because I also moved up the max power from 120 to 300w like this guide says http://www.overclock.net/t/1247413/ivy-bridge-overclocking-guide-with-ln2-guide-at-the-end The u3dh is suppose to be a good motherboard, shouldn't it be the chip not the MoBo?

I got it stable ( 15 passes of IBT maximum ( Use to fail after like 3 ) ) at 1.33v, turbo LLC. I had it down to 1.32 however even though it passes IBT 20 runs it froze on bios when i was gonna try and lower it, so it most likely wasn't stable right? Still better then what I had, I also turned on PWM to Extreme Perf but I restored it to auto and doesn't seem like it effects stabilty. Let me know what you think! I have been using negative offsets ( Currently at -0.30, was at -0.40 when i was at 1.32v) PLL overvoltage is disabled, and C3/C6 is disabled, is this fine?

yep, i pm'd you back with the answer wink.gif
sin's guide is great to follow also..
the pwm settings i always leave like they are, auto,
i played with it several times tho..decided i dont really needed to change them,

you can change the, turbo power and core current limit to 300 and 200 to totally maximize Intel limits,
but might not be needed, i always do tho ..lol

same goes for C3/C6, i always disable them

C3, C6. This is a deeper sleep with a complete core(s) shut down (Gate off) and no voltage/Data at all. harder to recover from quickly,
previous data is cached elsewhere and needs to be re-cached in L3 memory
to re initialize full muliticore, multithread use. Part of Core parking

you can, but like most settings, i just leave them as they are,
if a oc isnt working right, i might look into other settings,
internal cpu pll overvoltage, of what i heard, you can use it with oc's above 4.7-4.8ghz,
i tried it several times, when someone mentioned it to me, but saw no advantage
of having it enabled, disabled or on auto, like i always have (auto)
