Dell U2312hm vs. Dell U2412m?

Thread Starter
Hi guys,
I'm interested in buying a new monitor to connect with my laptop.

Currently, I will use this monitor mainly for work and web browsing while playing games (FPS) on it as well. I have been researching between these two monitors for quite a while now and I can't decide on which one to get!

Which monitor do you think matches my needs?

Thanks

These may help

The 23" has an aspect ratio of 16:9 which is a bit more favourable than the 16:10 ration on the 24" I think (someone please correct me if i'm wrong).

If you've got the cash for both, I'd personally go for the 24". My 23" has started to look small tongue.gif

This same desision has bothered me during the last month as well. I couldnt decide if the extra inch, 120 pixels on height were enough to justify 90€ more than the 23" one. After some research i came to decide to buy the 24" one as it would be more futureproof. I could get any of them for a really good price from the store im working as one of Dell's retailers but the stock is really low. I can have the 23" in one week from now and the 24" in 5 weeks(a month and a half), so i dont think i can wait that long. Im just gonna get the U2312HM...waiting for it is torture..If u can get your hands on the U2412M, then do it!

It's a matter of opinion, and even then, the OP would benefit from the extra resolution of the u2412m over the u2312hm, especially for work / browsing. That is the main separating factor along with price. Otherwise they are similar. The decision is mostly on whether OP should pay extra to get what the u2412m offers or pay less and be content with the u2312hm.
