I noticed a Lot of RMA's being denied for bent pins on a lot of different MoBos at New Egg recently. I think it was a lot of ASRock stuff. Even people receiving them with bent pins New. Makes no sense.
As i have been looking at hardware recently, and it was seeming like all the companies right now were making a lot crap 1155 boards, at least if you were to go by the reviews of them, which you do take with a grain of salt, alot of them were getting far too many neg reviews i think for me to take a chance and spend any money on them.
Anyway if you read the reviews with low or 1 egg. There is a ton, and i mean way too many reports of denies RMA's due to bent pins, in which the board had some other problem, got RMA'd then denied for bent pins.
At some point you know there are people out there that know how to handle components, have probably built a few PC's themselves and aren't haphazardly bending pins. It's either putting that protector back on is causing some issue, or the RMA dept taking it off and bending them when they do, or it's a load of crap, and they are deny RMA's on known bad lots of mobos. At any rate, what does it matter really, unless they are going to try and sell it as new or something. Anyway not your problem as a customer .
Since reading all those reviews i too would take video opening the package anymore, i started doing that with Ebay stuff a long time ago as well, at least some pics when shipping and receiving.
Oh yeah, and i new i did have a horror story with - what i at least suspect was in conjunction with a Newegg Rma.
I RMA'd a power supply once, and it all went fine, i got my money back ect. However about 5 months later i found 300 dollars worth of charges on my debit card that turned out to be for phone cards. Well, i got those charges reversed but the investigation said that the charges came out of i think it was California. And the only place i did business with there that i could think of was that RMA. As the charges came out of the same general area as where a Newegg return was sent too. I also sent an email to Newegg that someone might be sniping debit card numbers at that time. It was like 6 years ago, so i don't remember the exact details, but it was the only thing that added up at the time.
