@ BiG StroOnZ, I'll look into these speakers you are referring. Now that I think about it, my onboard sound isn't bad. Sounds good when I'm using my 5.1 headphones while gaming.

If you're going with team red, they draw more power than team green. So maybe if you want to be safer go with a 600w but most of the people on here will say it is enough. If you only shop at specific stores then you won't be able to get the X-530 or X-540. They are Logitech's last generation model so I don't believe you can get them new, unless you find a refurb. This generation is not nearly as good as last gen, which is why I jumped on the used last gen over the new this gen. Plus you can't beat the price. Either way, THEY ARE LOUD.

Changed to meet your request for only certain vendors. This leaves you with a little less than $300 for a speaker setup. You could easily save $100 and downgrade to the 7950 since it will be able to pass stock 7970 GHZ settings when oc'd. The power draw may be a little higher, but the amount of power you get for the price isn't beatable. A 7950 and 670 may trade blows, but I would much rather go with the 7950 for the price and overclock it. I technically don't even need to overclock mine, since at the 900 mhz stock it comes at runs all my games at 60+ FPS. At 1100/1400 on most BF3 maps 1080p ultra (minus motion blur) I'm getting into the 90's, even on the Armored Kill maps.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Power Supply: SeaSonic 620W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($83.18 @ Newegg)
Total: $488.16
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

7950 is what I would pick for 7950 and below, the difference between it and a 7970 just doesn't seem worth it to me for the money spent......says the person with a Matrix 7970.... tongue.gif

I like the WF3 , but I have seen a few people complain they've gotten a voltage locked WF3, that seems like a rare occurrence and not the norm though so good luck.

But yeah like others have said save the 100 bucks go 7950, though I will say getting a second screen is one of those things you don't realize you need until it's gone and you scramble to get one back.

For a PSU I would go for this so you have enough headroom for the future.

Soundcard I would lean towards HT|Omega or Asus and stay clear from Creative, the driver support for my previous Creative cards have been less than stellar.........

*edit* oh and for Speakers M10 Swans is what I would get for a nice stereo but X540 or some of those Logi 5.1s are ok if you get them for a cheap price.

Just got back from MicroCenter & TigerDirect and this is what I've bought so far...

OCZ ZT 750w (100% modular; $110 after taxes & rebate)

Galaxy GTX 660-TI 3Gb ($314 after taxes & rebate)

Yes, I know I've could of bought the slightly faster 7950 but based on site comparison reviews, dual SLI runs smoother than dual Crossfire & also, I'm feeling the Green again biggrin.gif

I'm going to skip the sound card & look for some nice 5.1 or 7.1 speakers. Any recommendations in addition to what was already referred?
