How to game on Intel 4000 Mobile

Thread Starter
Just wondering how I can play games on my HP laptop using Intel 4000 Mobile graphics. I can't seem to get any good frame rates on any of the games I'm trying.

Thanks

Intel's IGPs are the weakest GPUs compared to other GPUs released after 2010, and are meant for only light tasks such as web browsing or movies.

The only way to get decent frame rate is to lower the graphic settings to minimal and drop the resolution, depending on what game you're playing. There is no other way to get better results for gaming other than getting at least an AMD A8 laptop.

What are you trying to play? You won't be playing things maxed out, but I've played CS:GO and a few other games on my ultrabook just fine.

Just lower the settings and resolution.

Just lower the settings then. It may be compatible but that does not mean you'll get great framerates, especially in multiplayer.

You can see why I'm building a gaming PC with 7970 and FX 8350.

There's a difference between merely launching and running the game without a crash, and not getting a slideshow.

I could run BF3 on my old Core 2 Duo Intel GMA laptop. But I would hate the frame rate unless if I lower the resolution to 320p (if that was possible).

But on my current laptop, BF2 is a completely different gaming experience because I can run it at higher eyecandy and FPS level.
