New Benq Xl2420t - Half the screen is red

I got the monitor today. All seemed fine but i noticed many options were greyed out in the menu even when i'm in standard picture mode. All of the Display setting options were missing. (I'm using DVI-D with a gtx670).

I was calibrating the monitor for hours and i noticed that sometimes while changing options the screen would go black but the right half would turn green.

Then later on it stopped and this time the left half turned a very slight red.

Now i find that whenever my screen is black, or deep black colours are on screen the left side of the screen is slightly red, but only on black colours.

Has anyone had this before?

I really don't want to have to send the monitor back it is such a pain so if someone could help me?

I've been googling but not had much luck.

Reset the monitor back to factory defaults from the OSD menu, if that doesn't help have it unplugged for a moment, 30 minutes. see if it works normally then, if not, and you have confirmed that the problem is the display and not your videocard, time to call RMA.

Edit: Since its a 3d display, you got 3d enabled or something? could that be the reason why the colors are different on the otherside? Disable any 3d options.

Have tried a factory reset.

I'll try unplugging it for 30 mins. There doesnt seem to be a 3d option in the monitors menu and i dont have 3d enabled in nvidia control panel.

The time i see the red the most is during boot up of my pc. It's very strange.

just checked all of the picture modes and it isnt turned on for any of the modes. Switching it on and off makes no difference to the red.

All of my options under "Display" are grey no matter what picture mode im in, including standard.

However, on some picture modes like movie and photo, Black eQualizer becomes available and if i move the slider up a little the red disappears.

This makes me believe that it is a certain range of black on the left side of the screen which is somehow faulty. The more black it is, the more red shows through. Also the red is moving, its not static.

Maybe if i could get into the Display setting i might be able to do something but i cant.

Is it normal not to be able to access the display settings?

Lastly, i tried with HDMI cable and it produces the same effect. It produces the effect even when not connected to a PC.

Black eQualiser fix only works in hdmi mode, however when in hdmi mode the screen looks grainy and moving.

Have you installed the software that came on the disk? Either that or I would just send it back and get a replacement because it sounds like a faulty one. I have an xl2420t and it works fine.

I've started an RMA smile.gif

Under "Display" in the menu, can you select and change the pixel clock as well as "auto adjustment"? On mine i cant select any of those options.

I believe the auto adjustment is for VGA connection for when the picture is outside of the display.
