[Rock, Paper, Shotgun] SOE Outlines PlanetSide’s Future, Wants Feedback

These days, plenty of developers talk about how they’re going to work side-by-side with their fans, but PlanetSide 2‘s actually doing it. Case in point: a newly launched Reddit-esque “Roadmap” system. In short, it outlines every last plan SOE has for the next six months in fairly exhaustive detail and then allows players to both discuss and up/down-vote based on their personal preferences. Do not, however, take this to mean SOE’s now at the beck and call of ravenously hardcore players. It promises to listen, but acting’s another story...

Needs an acceptable draw distance and good performance. It's a FPS. FPS main concern is performance.

Once they get that working then focus on balance and new features.

The issue is the CPU more than the GPU. My 3570k gets 60+ fps easily, while the same settings on a Phenom II X4 965 @ 4Ghz gets around 30-40 average. This is with the same GPU (eVGA 660 Ti)

Can't wait to see where they go with this game. thumb.gif

YES.

Mobile, giant air fortress, controllable by platoon commander or something.

I have a 3930k and a 7970 and I lag. There's definitely something not right there.

First big improvement needs to be a reason for fighting and a sense of accomplishment. There is no real motive for playing the game properly.

Give us continent locking or something.

Lol whenever there was a base fight me and my mate used to get 15-20 fps on 955's clocked at 3.6GHz with 30% cpu usage

Now I have a 3770k I still get only about 40 fps avg in those fights while my mate still crawls about at 20fps

He quit soon after saying that the game needs to be playable if they want people to play it, that and its for the most part jsut a cert grind

A few of my Outfit mates said the last optimization patch made a big difference for their mid-range machines. 15fps to 30fps in big battles
