Steelseries 6Gv2...WOW

Thread Starter
Today I purchased my first mechanical keyboard after beating the living crap out of my rubber dome for 3 solid years and my fingers couldn't be happier. Got myself the Steelseries 6Gv2 with Red switches and I am simply awestruck. If you are considering this board I wholeheartedly recommend it, although I need to adjust the pressure I apply on the keyboard as I tend to rest my hands on the keys hard enough for them to actuate. biggrin.gif Guess it's something I have to get used to, but I am still overall very, very pleased and wish I had gone mechanical sooner!

Chime in if you're a 6Gv2 user, would love to hear some other people's opinions.thumb.gif

I've got a 7G and it's still running great after 3 long years of abuse. The WASD, R, and left shift keys are all a bit faded however. biggrin.gif

Ive had my 6gv2 for a while now and find it to be quite awesome. I use the v button to shoot when I game, and the mx blacks make tap and burst firing so much easier. I was kinda worried when I first got it because it made my hand hurt after about an hour of gaming. I think this was caused by the keys sitting slightly higher than my old rubber dome board. Luckily I got used to it after about a week and actually feel I can game longer now without my hands getting tired. The letters on the key caps do fade fairly quickly though, but this is a non-issue for me. I kinda like the worn look.
