Videos from 2nd drive are lagging.

OK, this just started. I'm watching an mp4 that i have on my 2nd drive, and it is lagging every other second....Lag, stall, pause....it is just not playing properly. I've rebooted several times. Not sure what the deal is. Temps are good, no overclock. Movies from that 2nd drive are lagging horribly...

help!

The 2nd drive could be failing slowly. I had the same issue with a failing HDD.

Copy the video to your main drive, and see how it plays? If it plays normal...yea maybe a failing HDD.

EDIT:

Open Windows Explorer, right click on the drive and choose Properties. Click on the Tools tab, and then click "Check Now"

Well. I analyzed the drive with Smart Defrag, it took several minutes to complete it but showed 0.0% fragments. Ran a benchmark with HD Tune, which was showing a maximum transfer of 1.4 MB/sec. That was slower than dirt, and was showing me something to not be right. Well, I haven't dusted out the PC in a while so I took it out to the shop and blew a load of dust out the case......a lot more than I was expecting. Came back in, made sure everything in Bios was normal(no overclocks) and turned it back on. Running HD Tune again and it is showing much faster speeds(122MB/sec), and I'm watching a movie at the moment with no stuttering. Also, SMART test never showed any errors on this drive, even before I rebooted. It is a 1GB 5900 RPM Seagate drive.

Why would there be such an improvement? Static build up? So far it is running completely fine.

The top one is the drive that was in question.

SMART data is never accurate if you use variable RPM drives.
