Galaxy GeForce GTX 670 GC 4GB - Reference 680 PCB?

Hi!

I'm planning on getting this card for my next rig, and I wanted to get a custom back plate from TripTcc, however I don't know if this card has a 670 pcb or a 680.

I found this post where someone is able to fit a heatkiller 680 waterblock+backplate on there, so would that mean a 680 backplate work?

Thanks for the help!

Well it does look like a full pcb and not a cut down version but it is hard to confirm that it means its a 680 pcb board?

Look at this PNY 670 pictures and you see that the pcb is shorter/cut down by around 2 inches at the end side where the fan cooler is... (click the 5th small box that shows 3 small boxes in it to see all the pictures to get to the pic im talkin about)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133452

the zotac one also looks shortened...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500242

the one you want looks like a full length board which may mean it is a 680 pcb, but not sure, please do some more research and dont take my word for it..

EDIT
this one has a full length pcb board...and a reviewer says hes happy that is has a full length 680 pcb
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130787
so it does look like yours has a full length 680 pcb board aswell, but please dont take my word on it i cannot be held responsible if it turns out being a HYBRID or CUSTOM pcb ect ect...because some aspects placed on the board look different than the EVGA one.

Several 670's have been coming with 680 pcb's. That Evga ftw review helped and I'm going to assume this galaxy has a 680 pcb or at least the screws are in the right spots (At least I can assume that from the heatkiller backplate pic). Plus I won't go insane if this backplate doesn't fit, it is only $25 tongue.gif

Good luck with your purchase! it does look like a 680pcb but areas on the board look slightly different than the evga one. Probably custom from galaxy.

EDIT look what i found

on the page under overview

"Galaxy has once again taken every opportunity to enhance performance in the specially engineered redesign of the GTX 670 GC, which features the same high-end custom PCB and dual-fan cooler found in the Galaxy GTX 680 GC. The latest advances in PCB design make possible a factory overclock, and the high efficiency cooler keeps the card running at low temps with whisper-quiet operation."

Sneaky Galaxy wink.gif
I plowed through 50 pages of Triptcc's artisan page and found that other people have been successful with galaxy's and his backplates, so it does look like they kept the screws in the correct places, just changed everything else wink.gif
