i7 3770k 5Ghz overclocking - Page 5

Everyone who reports any vcore with their overclock should be using a multimeter. Especially somebody quoting a 5ghz overclock. That should be mandatory.

With so many llc options, pwm switching, offset vs fixed, you should be using a volt meter.

wow everyone seems to have high CPU voltage . I currently run at 4.7Ghz using 1.24 v and run prime 24 hrs no errors and plays all my games with no stutter. Maybe its the board i uses.

I for 18+months have been running my i7 3770K @4.5 with a very low vcore of 1.275 but now I over clock more but I am thinking of going back because I need to run a lot higher vcore for 100 hz more. But 1 week 4.6 1.30 bois after reboot show 1.34 and I idle 29-31c max mid 50s rare into 60s c san Francisco is like AC air due to by the sea. I don't need to do prime 95 if unstable it will crash in gaming within 1hr so and it has not all week thus so far stable and at this point im sure 100% stable not too hot that's due to my HAF-X best case for great air flow and all the big fans which are not loud due to low RPMS

I am currently running a i7 3770k @ 4.5Ghz (1.195v), I hit around 58-60c in games on the highest core. After reading alot of threads similar to this I am thinking about going for 5Ghz OC

CPU Cooler: H100i
Mobo: Asrock Z77 extreme4
Memory: 16GB - 1600Mhz

Any thoughts?

extreme4 overvolts by a significant amount, often 0.04, sometimes approaching or passing 0.1v

if you need that volts for 4.5, it's maybe actual close to 1.25. Maybe not - hard to say.

If your temps are hitting 60 in games, you're probably already waay beyond that in prime, like high 80's, no? Not so much headroom without delid

I do not use Prime 95 any more to test CPU temps or stability. I just simply use my pc and play games until I find it stable. (advice from 8pack)

Same here and I also have the extreme4 with llc level 2 @ 1.4v for 4.9 oc. With the nice weather I never go over 75c with a hyper 212 evo and haf 932 case. House is pretty cool but when the summer comes I just bump down to 4.7. While gaming bf4, bf3, cod etc it usually hovers in the 50s-60s. Guess I'm lucky.

Damn, yeah I would say you are. Using a Hyper 212 Evo at them clocks.
