What are the best rads?

Thread Starter
Hi, i am going to watercool and i need help choosing. i was thinking of adding a monsta 120 in the front of my phantom 410 push pull and i need help from there. i thought i could add a 120 on the bottom push or pull if i am able to push the psu cables out of the way and mount a bitspower upgrade kit on top of that. then a 30 mm 240 on top in push and a 30 mm on the pack in push pull or a 60mm in pull, what do you think. i want rads that have a fpi at about 20

I will admit that the only brand of rad I have used is HWLabs (Black Ice), so I can't compare to other brands. However, my Pro1 and Pro 3 (sold), GTX120 extreme and Sr-1 280 have all been steller performers. The Extreme series has the 20 fpi you are looking for. I am using GT AP-14's in push pull on the GTX120 and two AP-15's with a custom made fan mount - superb temps.

I think most people overdo the amount of rads. Water is super effecient at cooling, so as long as you use good fans you don't need that many.
Of course, you don't have your Blue Beast filled out - maybe you are running OC'ed GTX480's in Tri SLI and need ungodly amounts of cooling. wink.gif

Best rads all around are the Alphacool Full Copper line.

- copper fins
- copper tubes
- copper chambers
- copper everywhere the water touches
- very very low restriction level
- best thermal performance. Check out the UT60 here. It stands above everyone else at all fan speeds except below 1000 rpm where it's baby brother the ST30 beats it.
