What I am shooting for is a HD gaming rig (1080p res) that can play pretty much every game on high/ultra. I will also be using it to do minor things for work like Photoshop and video/audio encoding.
I am getting a bonus from work and the wife has conceded to let me use it for this purpose, so my budget will be around $1600-$1650.
What I am looking at so far:
CPU Intel Core i5 3570k
MOBO ASUS Maximus V Formula
RAM Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8) DDR3 1600
SSD OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III
CASE NZXT SWITCH 810 Still deciding on black/black or black/white.
GPU MSI R7950 Twin Frozr 3GD5/OC Reviews say this comes on the 7970 PCB.
MONITOR Zalman MZ240ED Black 24" 5ms Widescreen LED Current monitor is only 1680x1050.
FANS Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition CO-9050007-WW 120mm High Static Pressure Case Fan x3 I am just ordering 3 for now until I can see how my rad is going to fit in the case. I may have to mod the drive bay to fit push/pull and I will order more when I am sure.
Newegg total w/shipping: $1,364.73
I am planning on bringing a few things over from my previous rig:
TFC X-Changer 360mm Radiator
PSU Corsair TX850
HDD Hitachi Deskstar 1TB For extra storage.
Pump Swiftech MCP655b
New watercooling gear:
CPU Block XSPC Raystorm
Tubing Primoflex Advanced LRT tube - 1/2 - 3/4 about 6 feet. Colors not specific yet.
Fittings Enzotechnology Compression Fitting - 1/2" - 3/4" - Matt Black x6
Reservoir Bitspower Single/Dual D5 Top Upgrade Kit 250
Water Cooling total w/shipping: $156.17
Total Cost: $1520.73
I plan on either parting out my sig rig or selling it as a whole after I get the new rig built. I am also going to sell my Alienware M11x laptop as well. Hopefully I can get enough to maybe add another 7950 for crossfire and maybe a mechanical keyboard.
What do you guys think?
