Thread Starter
Hey guys, I have sniper 1600 MHz CL9 1.5V (2x4 Gb) rams and I want to overclock it but its not like ocing the cpu or graphic card. its so hard to me..

I just want to OC it to 2000 MHz, could it be possible ? and will it affect FPS in games ?

Are there anyone who tried to OC gskill sniper 1.5V s ?

It will affect fps in games, but by such a small margin that you won't probably notice it with naked eye.

Whether DDR3-2000 is possible or not with your kit, largely depends on memory chips that are under the heatspreaders. You can always try the "trial and error" method, but we could give you a more precise answer if you could tell the first seven digits of the serial numbers. (those numbers provide the IC information)

how can I look for that number ?

Each of the modules has an individual serial number printed on the sticker.

Then it's trial and error method.

Go to BIOS, set the memory frequency to DDR3-2000, primary timings to something like 10-11-11-30-2T (for a start, if stable - lower them gradually) and see what happens.
