Seriously annoying volume problems

Thread Starter
I am running an Audigy 2 ZS with some creative speakers, and lately I have been having an insanely annoying problem with the audio on my computer randomly jumping up, then going back down. It does this sporadically. It happens in every application and circumstance I have tried, music, games, anything. This is especially annoying because when using headphones the volume will go from a reasonable level to excessively loud, which is hard on the ears. I have tried reinstalling the drivers for the sound card, but I am not sure what else to do. I can't remember a specific event that may have triggered this. The last major thing I did to my computer was (reluctantly) install service pack 2 a couple months ago. I never did this before because it was never anything but problems for me. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, this problem is a real drag
