Rofl because it doesn't already?

There are examples of it reversing...like I love how people will talk into their phones and have the phone convert it to a text message...why not just call and say it? (heh, though I do it myself some times...it is easier to read a text then check voice mail so if I think the person is busy I will just text)

Well the thing I see in that is that you might not always be able to make that call (due to being at work) or reach that person (due to them being at work) at the moment. If anything texting is stimulating MORE social communication as you can communicate to people in real time (assuming they can send a quick few texts on the job) when you normally would have no way of doing so. Talking into your phone to convert it to a text is ridiculous outside of doing it while you're driving or something. Hell sometimes when I'm having lunch at work I double-tap my home screen (a gesture shortcut I have set) to open Google Now and say "Remind me in 30 minutes my lunch is over" or "Remind me at 6:30 to find X thing at home to bring it to work tomorrow." It's not even out of laziness, I don't want to touch my phone with the food on my hands and whatnot.

Texting/social websites let you communicate to multiple people all at once. Try doing that face to face! Lol. My co-worker used to always criticize people that send her texts saying "Hi how are you?" and such, implying that they might as well have just picked up the damn phone and called her. Now after I hooked her up with a free Droid X2 a while back she's been doing nothing but texting so much that she was able to downgrade her plan to have less minutes, lol. Goes to show: when you try for yourself the "laziness" that you criticize, you see the true light behind it and learn to appreciate it.

Sorry to have strayed into this "technology and social interactivity" topic. I do agree that shoes that tell you how worn they are is pretty ridiculous doh.gif

Do they self destruct after they determine you need to buy new ones so that you are forced to? That would be funny.

Seriously though, this is stupid. Everbody knows when they need to replace shows, its just a case of whether or not they actually do.
