30" Inch Yamakasi 300 Sparta 2560x1600 S-IPS Monitor - Page 23

Does anyone who currently own this, have low buzzing sound when turning it's power on?

It lasts for about 20 seconds on mine then stops. Im hoping not an indication of any problem.

I don't own the monitor, but it says on ebay that the monitor might emit buzzing sound and it's not a problem. (and not covered by warranty)

well I got my new power brick from Bigcloth and its even 110v-240v as I asked. so good on them. However, my monitor still does not work. So I'm looking for some help here. basically the display died while in use with the old power brick and would come back on when I repowered the unit, but then stopped displaying at all despite repowering ip the unit. When I plug in and power up windows the red light stops blinking and goes solid green, but nothing displays. Also, when plugged in as a second monitor, it blanks out my primary monitor, the 40" TV at 1080p, even when the 30" is not powered up!. When I plug in another second 1080p monitor along side the 40" TV, no problems, both displays are seen by windows and I see both of them displaying. So not my video card at fault or system or drivers. I am beginning to think the DVI-D plug in the Yamakasi has stopped working or there was a internal short from the bad power brick. I have always heard signifigant crackling when the audio buttons are touched so there may be a problem with internal circutry. so dont play with these buttons at all as it could be a bad IC. The display does brighten and dim however, but I am not sure that matters much as the panel could still be fried.

so I am looking for options and I will have to see what Bigcloth will do for me. any help would be appreciated

Sorry to hear about that eggman. I would get with bigcloth and get a replacement. Worse case scenario you will be out on shipping. Maybe he will work with you. Keep us posted! Good luck!

If you unplug the 40' connect the jamak and boot into safe mode... Does it work?

Hello, first post and I only registered to give my feed back so think im a spy if you want.
Got my Sparta a few hours ago. the brick is warm so far so I already sent a request to Green-Sum for a new 110v-240v brick. hope i get one.

A break down for those who havent purchased:

- ordered over the weekend so it was shipped sun night my time and delivered thursday morning
- box delivered by DHL here in Colorado. they require a signature which is great so they wont leave it on the door step. i missed it but called him and we met in town so i could pick it up. DHL awesome imo now
- has 1" thick of bubble wrap around the box. best packaging ive ever seen. box was perfect so shipping and handling was good. the box was opened and taped shut so i can see they tested it before it was mailed. very nice
- DVI-D cable is on par with the shortest cables you see around 4' or so
- I used a power cable from my old monitor instead of the power adapter (there is an adapter included)
- the stand was very easy to install and is very solid itself, connected to the monitor it moves a little. not at all when typing or gaming but if you are on a boat or banging the desk around it will wobble a little. same as my 27" Asus so i dont see a problem i actually like it alot
- compared to my led it "looked" washed out right out of the box. I have my led at 100% brightnes so its super bright/too bright really. in Nvidia panel i changed the settings and it looks better than my led now. colors are more vibrant. blacks are blacker, whites arent as bright but more natural. in game the brightness looks perfect with my settings. I had to turn down my other monitor since it looks fake/to bright
- i did NOT pay for the pixel perfect and after scrouring the screen i found a few 2-3 but it was VERY hard to find them with my face and inch from the screen. sitting normal i will never be able to tell or care. and im anal about that kinda stuff. i was origionally going to get the pixel perfect but then i saw all the crap on my current monitor and decided it wouldnt notice it anyway. (look at your own monitor with the screen off and see all the junk. smile.gif
- gaming i get about 1/2 the fps as expected,. my 570gtx will become a 770 or 780 soon so its all good

in closing
- ill have to wait and see about the power brick and hope i get another one just in case.
- people talking about 8bit 10bit rbg colors ect i dont get all that or care (you will if you do graphics stuff) for me doing general stuff and gaming it looks amazing and better than my $300 27" 1080p Asus i bough a few years ago.

Hope this helps some one
