Cooler Master Hyper 212+ running too cool?

My rig is setup next to a three pane sliding glass door. It is about 68-70 degrees F in the room that close to the window. When i use coretemp, amd overdrive or AIDA64, it shows my idle temp on my FX-6200 is only about 17 deg C, and while running a stability test with AIDA64 with everything checked it maxes out at 41 deg C. Is that even possible?

Im not complaining, but starting to worry that my temp sensor has gone bad, and if i start ocing i could really burn some stuff up.

My rig is in my sig, but listed below

MSI 990FXA-GD65 V2
AMD FX-6200 @ 3.8GHz
Corsair Vengence 8Gig 1600 (12800) x2
Corsair TX650 PSU
Cooler Master Hyper 212+ push/pull to the back of the case
Cooler Master Elite 430 w/5 Cooler Master fans including the push/pull fans.

I think something must be wrong. Afaik the chip can not run cooler than the ambient temp on air.
Mine idles at ~30 C.

What software are you using to monitor your temps? It might not be optimized.
Try CoreTemp and see how it goes. tongue.gif
