A little help/advise for a noob with an i5 3570k overclocking - Page 6

There's nothing wrong with having the constant Vcore at that level, just that a lot of people prefer to have it idle at the lower voltage.

As for the RAM, it depends what speed the kit you have is. Do you know the specifics of it (model number perhaps)?

Set the BIOS to offset for vcore. Used auto. Now get between 0.944 - 1.05 at idle and a slightly higher 1.2 at load.

My Ram is now at 1600mhz. The voltage in BIOS is 1.5.

Checked the Ram in CPU-Z and it reads DRAM frequency 800mhz. I take it 800x2 = 1600mhz??

Got myself a artic i30 cooler now so I would like to see what I can get from my cpu. Goin to go for 4.5 up from 4.2. Shall I go for about 1.3vcore? Or leave the bios in auto?

Testing at full load @ 4.5ghz and if i manually set v-core at 1.3v it reads 1.304 in cpu-z. If i set in in auto its currently reading 1.360 whilst running p95.

I altered LLC from High to Med and it made no difference to the voltage.

How can i get the v-core set at my disired amount without rising over? Or should i leave it in auto at 1.360 v ?

Ive had my screen go black and a buzzing noise (only once) three times in the last hour.

I checked CPU-Z and my core speed was hovering around 3.8ghz and volts around 0.8vcore.

Ive had it overclocked for months (since the last post) at 4.2ghz and 1.2vcore.

Gone back into BIOS and re-applied the overclock and its happened again, black screen but no buzzing this time. Taken the Overclock of my GPU aswell before the last black screen.

Any ideas?

I think its only happening whilst browsing the web. Strange. Just got a white screen freeze.
