So true we had desert boots issued in 07 that had the soles glued on (no stitching) the glue melted and peoples soles were falling off. Though personally I found this hilarious as I had bought my own decent boots.

It turns out that robbing oil and natural resources of other sovereign nations is not that profitable after all. At least the government could afford good equipment for troops.

I personally find these inside stories of underequiped US military very similar to what USSR red army experienced in late 70's till collapse in early 1990's.

This was the British Army wasn't just boots most of what we were issued was junk. Infact most of my worn kit excluding stuff like body armour and weapon I had bought myself as the issue kit was rubbish. I heard its changed recentley though for the better (I left a few years ago).

Maybe we should start a range of "Real Military Grade" hardware where the VRM heatsinks fall off as they warm up and all the ports are slightly mis-sized requiring anything to be wedged in using a bayonet (which will then snap).

When used with computer parts (the enthusiast stuff that we buy) it's just a stupid marketing gimmick.

The harshest conditions the hardware will have to endure is going to be in the hands of LN2 overclockers and no one cares if the board has some military grade badge, it just has to clock well and be able to take a beating. Most of the time the boards that can do this are random high end boards from different companies. ASUS and Gigabyte leading the pack at the moment most likely.

And speaking of ASUS, how many people pushing their hardware to the max have you seen using a sabertooth? I'd say it's mostly rog boards, even though they have no military grade marketing crap.

But yea, according to MSI, there motherboards are jsut built with higher quality components. its something similar to Gigabyte Ultra Durable although I think Ultra Durable actually works

If you're on the army drill team, your purpose is to look good. So they will in turn give you things that look good but function like crap. If you want good supplies, get a friend in supply.
