Nvidia render card with AMD display cards.

I would like to know if you could use the eyefinity capabilities of AMD's cards while having the rendering done by a Nvidia card.
As the Nvida cards can only run 3 displays at most.
The reason I ask this is because I have a future build coming as soon as the Brickland platform is released.
This will be the rig where I can go all out 8+ processors for folding also graphic power to fuel the display wall I plan on having with it.(my dual e5520 and gtx570 are getting "slow" as in they are no longer top of the line)

So to get back on my question I know you can have and Amd card as render card and have any amd card from the 5xxx or above being a display card.(this is a confirmed fact)
But having a Nvidia render card and amd display cards hasn't been confirmed yet which is a pity.
I know I could just take 7970 or maybe once the Brickland platform is out in mid 2013 it might be hd8970's...
But with the look on this card http://www.overclock.net/t/1354372/nvidia-gk110-titan-performance-analysis

It fits my needs so good 6GB ram which is just what I want since eyefinity is eating a lot of vram also the extreme power this card bringt on a single chip.
I want too play all my games on atleast 6 displays (might become 9 don't know yet) maxed out the fact that I also play low popularity in comparison to other games which are on top of that based on opengl instead of DX makes this even more challenging.

The only problem is the nvidia cards don't offer this kind of display outputs that actually work.
SoftTH isn't an option as there are various opengl titles which I would also like to play fullscreen.
My biggest concern is that the drivers won't work together as replacing a Amd graphics card with a Vvidia and vice versa almost alway results in having to run Driver Sweeper.(for it to function/function correctly)

Is there anybody that can put some light on this?

Just throwing in my 2 cents here. Not sure if this plan is thought out. Because even if it DOES work....

The more GPU's you put in a case, the more problems you have with power, cooling, and drivers.

Now saying you want to run all your games maxed out on 6-9 monitors. Your gonna need a SLi/Crossfire system for that much power. Your gonna end up with 3-4 power hungry GPU's. You are creating a power/cooling/driver nightmare for yourself!

What your trying to do is not worth the headache. Go with AMD GPU's.

I'm watercooling everything and going triple 1260 rads so no sweat there.
I will be runing dual 1200W coolermaster psu's
And I think the titan card can pull it with ease all to avoid SLI.
You can have unlimited amd extension cards actually it is just the combining of both that worry s me.

It is pretty though trough as I was already planning on this 2 years back however the boxboro platform was getting a tad old therefor I decided to wait for the new platform.

For a while I was switching between using an old nvidia card and my HD 6970 (not at the same time though). It seemed however that the drivers could be installed simultaneously, but only one set would actually run. I like your concept, but I'm not certain that both cards would end up being active, probably just the top one running the monitors would be working.

Do you really want / need to have the second render card be Nvidia? Why not have one 7970 for all the displays, and another one for rendering (so that is not a crossfire setup, just two unique cards) - that is known to work, and although I don't know what your plans are for the second card, I imagine a 7970 would do quite well.

Because I need the strongest single gpu card if I want to avoid SLI or crossfire.
Driving 9 1920x1200 screens of a single 7970 sounds like 20fps to me.
Don't get me wrong I like amd cards but they do not have something like that Nvidia Titan card if only they took the 7970 die and made it 100% larger then renamed it 7980 biggrin.gif

What?A titan card will have around 80% the performance of a gtx690. A heavy overclocked 7970 is close to gtx 690 like 60-65 %. If the 8970 gain 15-20% performance over 7970 you have the same gaming performance as titan maybe higher with overclock. Also titan is a compute card we cant really predict the gaming performance of the card. The clocks will be lower like 850-900 mhz. Also it will gonna cost 900.My 2 cents

Price isn't a problem.
Well I will postpone purchase until Brickland platform is released anyway so the 8970 might be out
My point currently a dual gpu card like the ares II can run a solid 50fps+ on 5760x1080 so for a single 7970 this'll be hell as soon as I get it cracked up to 5760x3600.

Almost none single gpu even titan will run 9 monitors.I have trifire 7970s and still if i cranked up the settings on eyefinity still my fps drop. The amount of pixel with 3 is already to much. With 6 or 9 you should look at quadfire/4-way sli.

Well http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/asus_ares_ii_2_review,27.html says on the Ares it runs fine 5760x1080 and 3x the reso doesn't give you 1/3 the framerate.
So Battlefield for example 70fps+ 0.8 non overclocked titan = about 55fps+ if I don't lose more than 25 frames in the reso upscale I'm fine.
It would be so painful having to put down on graphics as what do I have those extra pixels for.
The point is I don't wan't multi gpu in sli or xfire as it will not work in all my games.
I'm preparing for HPL3 and it will not support or will not support good sli xfire configs.

Nothing will do 9 monitors without having frame rate issues. Also, when you spend extreme amounts money, there is this thing called "diminishing returns". You are so far into the land of diminishing returns, it's silly. Cost should always be a issue at some point. You plan on using a 2.5 KW power supply? Come on, this is just getting silly.

Honestly, wait for the future. lol. Setting up a AMD eyefinity setup with 3 monitors like the rest of us..... or wait like 3-5 years for technology to progress. thumb.gif
