Cant get ram to run at correct speeds...

Thread Starter
I'm more than likely doing something wrong so here's the story. I have a GA-Z77X-UP7 Motherboard and CMT8GX3M2A2000C9 ram 4x4 to make 16gb

I'm having issues with it running at the right speed. I have tried XMP 1, which causes it to fail to boot. I have tried manually setting it to 2000mhz which also fails to boot. I have the the ram to 1.65v and the timings set to 9-11-10-28. its pretty much stuck at around 533.9*2=1067.8mhz

My first guess is that it has something to do with voltages, but I'm not really sure where to go from here, so if someone would be kind enough to help me, it would be much appreciated, thanks.

try with one kit at a time 2x4gb
one may be faulty, or there may be another issue

Try increasing the CPU VTT (memory controller) voltage. Some ram needs up to 1.15-1.2V, especially in 4 dimm config. Also make sure you run Command Rate 2T.

I tried 1.15 to 1.3 and to no avail, it still fails to boot.

First try two modules, then try 4. First try each kit separately as he said above.
