Hey guys what would be better to grab a Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 or combo tablet and smartphone?

Reason I need a new phone and I would like a tablet to go along with it but not sure if to buy them separably or all in one combo. The cheaper the better what recommendation you guys have?

IMO get the one you're comfortable with. As for me I'd go with the SGN2 so that I wouldn't have to carry two devices with me and the Note 2's size is enough for me to comfortably watch videos or read stuff. Plus the battery life with the Note 2 is great. I also have an Archos tablet which I haven't touched in a while since I can do most of the stuff with my Note 2.

I have a tablet - Lenovo Thinkpad - I purchased over a year ago when I had a 4.3 inch Android phone. It worked OK, but recently I purchased the Note II GT-N7100 and find myself using the Note II almost exclusively. The 5.5 screen size is more than enough for 99% of my needs, and I do not need to carry 2 devices.
I am going to be using it with the T-Mobile $30 a month plan that include 5GB high speed data - http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/monthly-4g-plans - so I have internet everywhere. Tethering with this plan is allowed.

nice guys, I been looking into that too because I need a phone my prepaid one is old, plus I already have a ASUS Ux21 Ultrabook laptop so don't need another laptop. Figure a tablet and a smartphone is what I need right now since I am now very busy and very mobile.

Maybe i will consider the Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 as my main tool to grab.

One final question if anyone can answer. Since I don't mind having two devices what would be the best combo to go with

So far I did;

Google Nexus 7 for $249.99
HTC Inspire V (unlocked) $249.99

Total: $500.00 is this a good combo? Phone will be used under straight talk services.

or

Should I still aim for Samsung?

My ultrabook is running Windows 8 pro. So far is nice since it has an ssd. This of course is my school and personal work laptop.

The full model name is GT-N7100. Some websites omit the GT part, for some unexplainable reason... I had the same question from newegg.com when I was purchasing mine.

There is an unlimited amount of phones/tablets in the market, and what combination of hardware to buy is a personal choice. My experience is that buying the Note II eliminated my need for a tablet.

When I travel I carry my GT-N7100 along with my Asus ASUS Zenbook UX32VD-DB71 ultrabook with Windows 7. I decided not to use my $14.95 special price to upgrade to Windows 8.

wow I c, nice I have the ASUS Ux21 Ultrabook with the SSD drive and Windows 8 Pro. Seems to work lovely so far with the exception sometimes it turns on when the lid is closed. Weird, I might have to down grade if it keeps doing that. Unless I can figure out what is making my laptop turn on.

Anyways, I been looking at the following combos with the budget of $600-700.
Combo 1:
Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 - factory unlocked- 16GB Gray

Combo 2:
Google Nexus 7 16GB WiFi
Samsung Galaxy S III Mini I8190 8GB Unlocked GSM Phone with Android 4.1

Combo 3:
Windows 8 Tablet
Windows 8 Phone

Combo 4:
Ipad 2/3
iphone 3/4

But base on what you are saying about the GT-N7100 it might be the best way to go having just the laptop and the phone/tablet.

I really like my nexus 4/7 combo.

They are very similar so the whole experience is seamless.
