My CPU over heats really quick, help?

I have a Athlon II x3 435 and whenever I even try to play Minecraft, it heats up quickly and within 5 minutes, it hits its shut off point.
Can anyone help?

Yeah, I'm on stock cooling, I haven't overclocked it, and I smoke so that should answer the dust situation

Did you mount the CPU HS properly? What about TIM? Also, check your CPU fan to make sure it's plugged in. Everyone's had derp moments before!

Yes, I did. Stock tim. Fan is plugged into a constant 12v source. It's his thermal paste, I have some PK-1 lying around when I can get over to his house.

Just trying to rule things out, but did you make sure to take off the plastic protective cover on the heatsink if it had one?

Insufficient cooling then. Better CPU cooler and/or case with more airflow required, I think. Got a photo of your setup?
