Asus Gene V and I5 3570K Problem

Hello,

I bought an asus gene V and I5 3570k together with corsair DDR3 1600 ram.

As I am building a silent system in the fractal define mini I don't want to overclock but I keep getting a problem with default bios settings.

As soon as I start prime with default bios settings all 4 cores are getting overclock to 3.8ghz, and they only should go the 3.6ghz...

Can anyone help me for the right settings? I have tried everything and I can't get the turbo boost to work properly and only boosting on 1 core.

Yep, I believe the ASUS Gene V has a feature that runs all of the cores at the highest turbo frequency by default. Usually on 4 cores, it would go up to 3.6GHz, and up to 3.8GHz on a single core. Instead, the single core speed is applied for all cases.

My personal recommendation is to leave it as it is, a little extra speed never hurts. Otherwise, go into the bios and there should be a setting to disable that feature alongside the other overclocking options. Hope that helps!

Edit: if you really are looking for a low power silent system, consider putting all the overclocking options on manual, keep speedstep / power saving features enabled, and set all the cores where you want them. Then, work on lowering the voltages (or a negative offset voltage). That will really bring temperatures down.

Thanks, I think its called Asus multicore enhancement but I can not find the option in the Gene V bios.... I hope asus did not just make it default so yhou can't dissable it just because its a good "overclocking" board.

Check the setting for Ratio Synchronizing Control - I think that locks all the multipliers the same also.
