[Information Week] Would You Buy $800, 128 GB iPad? - Page 8

$800 for 128gb of storage and a slow ass cpu hahaha
no thanks.

$800 will be better spent on a laptop with an i5 or APU

$500 for a unlocked smartphone is pushing it, but a $800 Tablet.

If you need 128gb of storage on a tablet, you have a problem.

You forgot to mention that the recovery partition takes up 4GB, Office 5GB, and other preloaded apps several hundred MBs, all of which can be deleted. If you chose to keep the preloaded junk then you still get 80GB of storage for less than a 64GB iPad.

Painful. $800 buys a more functional and decent high-end laptop or ultrabook.
There is no market for an $800 iPad. They HAVE to realize that. This is going to be the technology failure of the year.

Are we all forgetting that this is apple? What is the most sold version of the ipad?

You just watch, this will sell very well. Plenty of rich people out there. If they can spend a few grand on a scarf, why not a 1k iPad?

Think of the 16gb version as that clothing company H&M. Now think of the top tier iPad (128gb with 3g and wifi) as the actual designer product.

Does anyone need shoes that cost thousands? Does anyone need a sweater that costs as much as a top end alienware? Does anyone need to rebuild their computer with newer components every year? No no and no, but people still do it.

Might sound harsh but most of us are just hating on the fact that someone is willing to spend that much on something we see as simply not worth it. Usually because we cannot afford such things, sure we may say even if I was loaded I wouldn't touch it...but the fact is you don't live that kind of lifestyle.

So much Apple hate in this thread.

Personally I don't have the need for a 128gb tablet. But why all the hate on the iPad? I personally wanted to love android, i tried an S3 phone and tried the asus transformer infinity... for the things that i do the iPad just does it all better.

My tablets are all the base models 16gb... only on my ipad4 do I wish i got 32gb instead... mainly because of long flights where i load my tablet with movies it would be nice to get a few more on there. Its not the end of the world but it would be nice to not have to resync every time to change content.

I get the whole tablet vs ultrabook argument... but i dont want to chill out in bed with a laptop while surfing and watching tv with the wife. Tablets absolutely have a niche. IMO
