Watercooled SFF, Q08 Heavy modded

First of all, wellcome to follow my beginning first ever project log, and first ever watercooling system!

The case i started with, was a Lian li's Q08 ITX-case, which i'm modding to fit much stuff inside and even rotated it.

The hardware:

-MSI slim mATX board
-i5-3570K
-Kingston 2x2Gb DDR3
-MSI GTX 660
-OCZ 60Gb SSD
-Super flower, golden green series 400w PSU

For watercooling:

-EK DCP 2.2 Pump
-Phobya G-changer 140-radiator
-150-tube reservar
-EK Supreme CPU-block
-Alphacool HF14 GPU-block (And there really is reason why didn't i go with fullcover, will be seen later)
-Phobya 13/10 fittings
-White and blue tubing

Unforgenetly i miss some pictures of the beginning .. But let me show you a picture of what we are continuing from:

As you can see on the pic. i've made some plans on tubing and routing the cables (Some of them are bitfenix extensions and some are sleeved by me) And dont mind the bad paintjob on the radiator, its from the last owner, will be repainted.

This image explains more of the reason i didn't go with fullcover, the PSU will sit right above that graphics card, and obviously there isn't enough space in width.

But i still think i've made that Uniblock to look pretty attractive by playing with colours wink.gif

Things to do:

-Drill all the holes for rivets to attach MOBO-tray
-"build" the pump mount
-Work front panel to fit my Vandal power switch and water temparature LCD-screen
-Mod the original fan bracket to fit push pull rad configuration i want
-Mount the reservar
-Sleeving and trimming the wires
-Playing with polycarbonate to finish the back panel area
-Complete the buy list (More led strips, few fitting for loop, few fans)
-Make the frames to case windows, from alumium profile
-Complete the loop
-Paint the case in white, which i am really exitied about!
-and all the other stuff which i will run into

To be continued, there is still lots of work to do smile.gif

Time for first update, i have been woring this morning on some little things..

Let me show you the two things that are going to go in the frontpanel and which i made holes for

Itse the Vandal power switch with blue led and phobya LCD-screen to follow water temparatures, with blue leds also thumb.gif

I even managed to dissasmbly that LCD accidentally, and let me tell you.. reassembling it was nightmare, since i had to resolder few wires on its PCB, they kinda "snapped of" the original solder.

But, after some 30 minutes of working, by cutting and filing.. i came out with this:

And i really wanted to testfit those parts, with light on, so i first wired and sleeved the switch

And finally, perfect fit and lighted up!

It turned out just as good as i imagined it and im really satisfied of the looks! And i think it will look even better in the end, with case being painted in white wink.gif

You can also see the place of reservar, there will be window so that i will be able to check on coolant. it will be lighted up with blue leds, since its my theme colour and i'm not going to use any premix or coloured water at all..

Hope you like it, i will continue with some drilling and cutting, so that i can start with painting.

Some new update:

i was working at polycarbonate backplate, drilled also holes for riveting it after painting.

I also mounted the res and did some plans on pumpmount, the pump itself will be attached to that fanshroud which will be mounted to to the "floor"

Next i will have to cut 92mm fanhole in that polycarbonate plate and "assembly" the pump whit its mount and so. and that will be all before the case gets painted next week.
