$250 for headset and soundcard

For the "Win Your Ultimate Rig! 12 Rigs Total!" contest, I was speccing a $2500 pc (The Electric Sponge... ). Honestly, it is where audio is concerned that I am a bit... uneducated.

I know I would need a good headset and soundcard for about $250. I do much gaming, League of Legends, World of Tanks, but I also love to listen to music; 30 Seconds to Mars, Three Days Grace, Neon Trees, MIchael Jackson, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. So, what would everyone recommend for me?

$250 is low if you want a quality headset and soundcard. In this budget where are you looking to save money headset or soundcard?

Asus DX 7.1 $81

Sennheiser PC 350 $170

I have the turtle Beach Px5 which sounds amazing and has all the bells and whistles. It cost

The new turtle beach headset alone is more than your budget, so you have many choices on where you want the bulk of the money to go

I'm not a perfectionist. I like quality things, but I don't think I need perfection.

I think this setup would sound good for OP's taste too. I would just go with a different mic, as I had a bad experience with that logitech piece of trash. You had to stick your face right in the thing and it still put out low quality sound.

I'd rather have it internal. I hate having things on my desk to clutter it up.

I like this. It has an included mic. Do you know if it is a decent mic?

I would consider either a headset or headphone with a mic. If I go headphones, I'd probably use it on my iPod also.

You could just put the DAC on top of your tower, duct tape it to the side of your case, anything really.

But if you really want an internal card, Creative Z $120 or Titanium HD $110 + AKG K240 or AT AD700

This Creative z for $100?

And what is the difference between the Creative Z and Titanium HD?
You're putting an awful lot of thought into this considering it's for a hypothetical build.

Z is newer and has a couple new features, HD still has higher quality audio components.
