I use this function daily. windows 8 does the same thing. I can switch between any of my desktops or laptops or tablet and have the same set up.

the people talking crap about these new programs have no friggin clue what they are talking about. I had to exchange my new g75vw a few days ago and am waiting for a new one to arrive. I booted up my old g73sw which has seen no action in weeks and picked right up where I left off on my g75vw. all of my settings and files and everything were right where I needed them to be. I didn't have to "go find" anything. awesome.

too many youngsters on ocn. lol.

How is OpenOffice not a "defacto standard office suite"?

Exactly. In my 4 years of college encompassing dozens of research papers, lab reports, and presentations, I've come across nothing that OpenOffice couldn't do.

At the end of the day, I do use my Linux desktop and libreoffice for most word processing. If I need excel or to present anything, I switch to my PC laptop. Powerpoint works great with graphpad, excel, and chemdraw. Making a presentation in libreoffice then trying to present it using Powerpoint was a horrible mistake. 100% compatible is bs.

I present a lot of things and I haven't had any issues making .ppt's in OpenOffice and presenting them using Powerpoint. What problems have you come across?

The only thing I've had problems with is if I save something in an OpenOffice format, like .odt or whatever the Impress default format is and open it with MS Office. I get the occasional formatting issue, but saving in a compatible format has worked for me every time.

Does office 2013 5 user license work for a windows terminal server environment?

What are the licensing considerations?

I use OpenOffice on my gaming rig because I don't do enough Office related work to justify installing a paid office suite. So on the rare occasion when I do need to create a document or spreadsheet it suits my purposes. However I have seen a lot of compatibility issues opening documents created with MSOffice, it's definitely not perfect.

Switch to Libre then. It see's more updates than Open ( which only just got an update not long ago after a year or more, lol )

The title is a bit sensationalist if you ask me. It's not like they are forcing you to buy the 365 version.

That version will benefit some, and the regular version will work for others.
