Normally what I see happening when mixing clock speeds and different cards is the gpu usage will throttle.
The faster cards usage will throttle down...

Has anyone gotten crashes in Guild Wars 2 since updating to 13.2? I updated from 13.1 to 13.2 beta 4 (tried 5 with same result) and my game started randomly crashing. The crash log is not very helpful:

Exception: c0000005
Memory at address 00bf5f30 could not be written

The only other thing I changed in my system was lowering cpu voltage slightly in bios. P95 blend for 12 hours with no issues. I'm reverting back to 13.1 to see if I get same issues but just curious if anyone here has gotten crashes?

Since i was one of the few people to post about GW2 with the patch no. 12.11 beta 3 crashed me. the last 12.11 beta didn't. 13.2 didn't. I never bothered with 13.1 because i waited for 13.2 for the frametime fixes for DX9 games, GW2 being one of the major games which it addressed. I believe im using 13.2 beta 3(*?) as i have no use to update as i don't play Crysis 3/own games like far cry and such to majorly affect me.

Installed 13.2 beta 5. Far Cry 3 DX11 in crossfire is still unplayble. The stutter is so bad. Why AMD hasn't made a fix for this problem a top priority is a complete mystery.

13.2 beta 5 has been the best for me with FC3
13.2 (2,3,4) had vsync 2 frame w/ 5 buffer to play at (30fps) with minor stutter
13.2 5 was able to play with 1 frame 5 buffer (60fps) with just a tad more stutter

no clue where a few on here have achieved "butter" but it is still playable

Just curious what crash errors you were getting? Was it the same error as me?
I am running 13.2 beta 5 now and it seems OK.

I contacted Ncsoft tech support and they are insisting that it's my overclocked CPU that's causing the crash, even though I've had everything running stable for a month with no issues. According to tech support "the processor is just utilizing the built in Intel Turbo Boost option, which will raise the cores speeds based on load. This is a feature of the CPU model you purchased, marked with the (k). Any (k) series Intel chip is able to run faster than intended, automatically, without you doing or changing anything. This can often lead to freezing or crashing in applications not expecting this to occur."

laugh

I tried explaining that my cpu has low temps and enough voltage, passed P95 12 hour test, and has worked fine for quite a while before these random crashes, but nope they don't listen. They really need to train their tech support people better. Didn't even ask if I was using beta graphics drivers or anything. Just automatically assume that an overclocked cpu is unstable.

since i dont have an i5k/i7k, i wouldn't have any overclock cpu issues. my crash was BSOD that happened randomly while gaming. using nirsoft'ss blue screen viewer, in my case, the atimdag.sys crashed on me twice, then cleaned and updated to a different driver, BSOD went away after that.

edit: the crash happened only on GW2, all other games were fine.

So here's the list of possibilities:
  1. Drivers
  2. 5870 (I have another, so I'll test this)
  3. DP to DVI adapter
  4. DVI cable

Testing to begin later this evening...

I tested with a different DVI cable... nothing changed.
I tested with the second 5870... same issue.
I tested the 5870 in a different slot on my motherboard and viola, the problem was gone! I have no idea at all why the third PCI-E slot on my board doesn't like me using Displayport...

But I'm pleased to announce that this one is not the drivers. Crossfire, however, is still definitely the drivers.
