FX-8350 on a very old Biostar TA785GE 128M

Hey guys,

I'm really sorry if this is not the correct place to ask this. If it's not, would it be possible for you to point me towards the right direction?

I know it may sound ridiculous, but my CPU just died and I don't have money right now to replace CPU + Mother + Memory.

My current configuration is as follow:
AMD Athlon II X4 620
Biostar TA785GE 128M
Kingston 6gb DDR2
GF GTS 450 1gb

My Athlon is dead and I came up with the idea to replace it with a 8350, then next month get a new mother and ddr3 memory.

Am I nuts? smile.gif

Thanks a lot in advance!

Wont work as far as I can tell from specs.

Wrong chipset.
Not AM3+
Wrong ram
4+1 will have trouble holding up to the power draw.
No bios support.

Thanks, majin.

I thought 8350 was AM3.

Gonna have to find another solution, probably will buy an old Phenom. Thanks!

FX chips are AM3+
But some AM3 boards have had bios updates to support it.
