CPU's have drivers now?

I think the reference in the quote was to the graphics cards mentioned.

Anyone here with xfire 7970/50? I am on a clean install of Win7 with fresh 13.2 drivers and on the Museum map, I am averaging 45-55fps most of the time. 16 player map, 1080p, 2xMSAA, Very High settings, High Textures and my 2600k is at 4.5ghz.

Some people here are getting those numbers with a single OC'd 7970 or 680. Something wrong on my end? On the Airplane map, I fair a bit better, probably around 60-70 avg, but that still seems low. The game looks OOK but seems poorly optimized as when I'm staring at the wall, sometimes it doesn't even reach 60fps.

Edit: Just tried single card in Airport and not getting over 30fps in any scenario, even looking at the ground it was hitting 32ish max.

1: Use SMAA over MSAA (looks better; less of a performance hit).

2: "On 13.2 beta 4 driver: Open Catalyst> Gaming tab > 3D Application Settings > Add Crysis 3 MP Open Beta.exe in the Origin games folder in Programs files and at the bottom set CrossfireX mode to use AMD Pre-defined profile > Crysis 3"

Turns out to be that vsync is buggy. I turned it off and it went from 30fps to 50fps looking at the same spot.

Edit: Only fixed single card, not crossfire.

I tried this, and it seems to have improved a bit, but I still dip around 40-50fps in open areas, and 70-80fps in closed. Is this normal? In the museum map, it's pretty much an open map so I'd be sitting around 40-50 most of the time. I don't think it has improved that much.

Give it time bro. This game hasn't been truely optimized for sli/crossfire applications. I'm sure they will have it squared away by the release of the actual game. Then you will be able to soak up with the performance your rig is capable of. For now there just trying to please the entry level gamers rather then scare them off. Crysis 3 single player will bring us back to the days of Crysis 1 when only the best machines would truely shine.

True, it's only beta, but it seems like there are people who are running 2x7970/50 or 2x680/70 are claiming to have it running at butter smooth while I am getting anywhere from 40-80 chopiness. In the museum map, I am almost always around 45fps, nowhere near butter smooth.

I may be wrong, but I don't think anyone is seeing 90-100% scaling with performance on their second card. Just enjoy the game for now!

The last thing I'm thinking about when I'm about to airstomp 3 fools at the crash site is how many FPS I'm getting.

Well I have this video of my FPS with a 7970 on the high preset. Frames wise its really good. Also a REALLY awesome double kill I got smile.gif
